Welcome to the Woundlight Glossary. Here you’ll find terms that appear across our songs, lore, and stories—some whispered on wind-worn roads, others carved into the hearts of wanderers.

Woundlight

A style of bardic expression rooted in trauma, longing, and whispered truths. It lives between suffering and beauty—where pain is not erased, but held aloft in melody.

Mimica (Hanbun Mimica)

A half-elf bard, rogue, and wandering heart. She sings songs too honest for most ears, touching on forgotten truths, historical injustices, and bittersweet dreams.

Lutecrite

A devouring mimic posing as a bardic companion. With haunting charm and a hunger veiled in harmony, he plays alongside Mimica to lure hearts—and sometimes bodies—into the depths.

Woundlight Duet

A performance pairing where both singers mirror and contrast each other emotionally. Typically one voice carries sorrow while the other offers illusionary solace or deeper devastation.

Temporary Kings

A term referring to those who wield fleeting influence through superficial generosity or symbolic gestures, often to ease personal guilt more than aid systemic change.

Fairytale Reclaiming

The reinterpretation of folkloric tales through a lens of hidden pain, power imbalances, or emotional realism—often with a focus on giving silenced characters their voice back.

Briar Bones

A metaphor for the forgotten casualties and silenced victims who paved the way for celebrated “heroes.” Often referenced in the reworking of classic myths like Sleeping Beauty or Red Riding Hood.

Woundlight Stage

An imagined or metaphorical stage set not for celebration, but for revelation—often dimly lit, with shadows that echo the stories left unsung.
